I haven't done an update on my little ladybug in a while, I always plan on doing it on the 22nd (her birth day) and it always whizzes by me.


First of all you're still breathtakingly beautiful and it hurts our hearts to look at your sweet little face so don't you worry about that.

Favorite word: UP.  You don't really talk yet, and you have a hodgepodge of words but according to your nana no one in our family speaks well before 3 and we turn out okay later haha. But you own the word "up" and you have since you were around 6 months old. We used to laugh at how clearly you enunciated it with full on eye contact and arm motions. Maybe that's why you don't talk much? Either way you're a very efficient little mime, and that's probably why you don't speak much. You sign for "more" and that's all you need to get by in this life for now.

Favorite food: Aside from grapefruit you still haven't met a meal you don't like. I loooove that you eat whatever I give you. I think this is partly because I never make you substitute meals if you don't finish your plate. You get very excited with fideo soup and broccoli though, that's your favorite lunch. Your favorite breakfast/snack lately has been frozen blueberries, we both go to town on those. And you can't say (make pleased facial expressions and mime with some wildly pleased gestures) enough good things about my spaghetti.





Speaking of food I did something awful to you today, something I'm a little embarrassed to admit. The island had a cutting board and a few utensils scattered about and when I cut your cheese sandwich I guess I grabbed a knife that had chili on it and your little mouth and surrounding skin got super irritated and red and you kept touching your mouth and crying. before your skin turned red you were motioning to your mouth so I immediately shoved your food in my mouth checking if it was temperature hot (it wasn't) and it wasn't until your daddy smothered you with kisses and said his lips were burning that I realized mine were too and deduced what happened.

I'm really sorry and if you end up hating spicy food we know why =(

Favorite activity: You still love playing in water but now that I've been taking you to fun places (literally I never take you somewhere boring or not for you, except grocery shopping but you make that about you too) you sometimes point to the front door and take me to car and gesture to it so we can presumably go somewhere. Now that we've been jogging first thing in the morning you get in a tizzy seeing me pack everything up.

Also: Coloring. I've bought you arty stuff (big crayons, sketchbooks, coloring books, molding clay etc) since you were around 8 months and you've always loved it. I've never showed you what to do except water coloring but even then I just showed you how to pour a little water in the color, swirl it, and clean your brush in the water. Imagine my surprise when on your own initiative you start trying to color within the lines on your own!! You're my artiste with an e at the end!
 
 Oh and I made another parenting mistake with you this week. You slept a lot one day and woke up at 2am crying and I turned on the TV so that your other 3 roommates (daddy, me and baby iggy) could sleep. You want to make this a nightly occurrence now. Twice since then you come pitter pattering after me when I get up to make baby Iggy's bottle. You even tried to take me to the backyard once around 2am.

Your Brother: You're no longer jealous of him but you certainly don't see the big fuss is. And earlier today you were miffed that  he thought it was a big deal when you lost your footing standing on my back and landed on him.




You've also learned that your kisses are more valuable than gold in this house so you distribute them accordingly. Only when we behave or you want something.

Another cutie patottie thing you do: Sometimes when we tell you something is a "no" we wave our finger at you. You shake your little chubby finger right back. One day you were having a fit and crying about something you wanted to do that was unacceptable and Daddy decided to distract you so when you waved your finger at him he pretended you blasted him back. You looked at your finger like "WOW!! all this time I had this power!?"

p.s I'm sorry you had to crane your neck sideways to read that. Daddy paid for me to be able to go to the Apple store to take classes on things like making proper videos but you get too excited there so I haven't been able to go. I'm planning on going soon though so I can make a longer video made of little clips like these at the end of each month.
