I'm a huge fan of "what's in your purse" posts and a nosy person in general so I thought this might be kind of fun :)
It was FINALLY time to switch Anna's carseat forward facing and I used the opportunity to clean and detail my car. Iggy's mustang is immaculate because we usually use my car, so my xB usually has a bunch of straw wrappers, dirty carpets, and IGGY'S leftover cups. I hate that, having a messy car makes me not want to go anywhere and gives me a headache, but it's hard to clean a car well while keeping an eye on two babies. Iggy's offered to clean my car but he either fails to follow through or does a terrible job.
I brought everything out and used toothpicks and q-tips until my car looked and smelled brand new except for a few mysterious scratches and scuffs that I blame Iggy for. He chucks the stroller in the back and won't cop to being responsible for the marks on the top of the car.
Having everything removed from the car reminded me of when I bought the car at 19, about 4 years ago. I try to be a practical person, so even though I wasn't married yet, I knew I would be soon, and kids would come soon after so I looked for a big-ish car without actually getting a minivan.
My friend had the older Scion xB so I knew how roomy they were, and decided to make that my number one car. When I got to the dealership I saw the newer Scions were even bigger. Whenever people got in my car, the first thing they would say was "wow, your car's big!!"

(car without child paraphernalia)
And now, two kids later I see how foolish I was. If I get pregnant within the next three years I'm going to need a minivan for sure and I really don't want that haha. I have nothing against minivans, but I'm attached to my car for sentimental reasons. I had to drive my dad's old taurus when I got my license, so my xB was my first new car, and the first financial commitment I made and I just plain love it. Maybe because it annoys me that Iggy gets new cars so often, but I want to drive this car until the wheels come off.

(car loaded with all the child needed stuff)
It's crazy how much stuff is needed to tote two littles around right?!
Okay, I'm admittedly an overpacker, but I like that I can basically go anywhere for any amount of time with little preparation.
Whenever I decide to go anywhere I basically just need to get the babies dressed and pack an insulated lunch bag with baby Iggy's milk, food for baby Iggy (a new development!)A bottle of milk for Anna, a straw cup with water, and snacks for Anna. Along the the outside compartments I have their utensils and dry snacks like mum-mum's for baby Iggy, and crackers for Anna.
Anyway, this is how the OCD travel:
Obviously saying the double stroller takes up a bit of space would be a massive understatement. It blocks half the back window when I'm driving, haha. I had my heart set on this stroller and when Iggy finally caved, we went alone and removed the carseats figuring it would come in a big box and Iggy warned me to never mention a complaint about the stroller even if it didn't fit in my car.
Well it fits in theory. I just need to pop off the wheels to get it in, which isn't very hard. I take the trays off just because they were getting scuffed, but technically I don't have to.
I also keep the baby bjorn in the back, along with a big diaper changing pad, a stick of sunscreen, and the babies sunglasses. These are actually Anna's backup pair of sunglasses, and baby Iggy's only sunglasses since he isn't such a fan.

On baby Iggy's side of the car, I keep an extra pacifier in the cupholder part of the door, and on the floor I have a big zipup picnic blanket, a thick blanket, two smaller ones, and a toddler leash for Anna.
Sounds a bit much right? but the picnic blanket is for the park, beach, etc, the smaller ones are for tucking around baby Iggy in overly air-conditioned places and the big one is in case Iggy surprises me with a trip to Disneyland again and I am unprepared for the chilly night and decides we should head home early. NEVER AGAIN.
I didn't think I'd be the kind of mom that used a child leash but then again I didn't think I'd have children so close together so it's necessary sometimes.
The center seat between the babies is a just a random selection of toys, books, and distractions. None of them are favorites, except the vtech book but she got used to it being a car toy, so they can just stay put. The sketchbook and crayons are a must for Anna.
The center floor has my backup diaper bag. Yes I have a backup diaper bag. I was caught once without enough wipes so NEVER AGAIN. It's just a canvas reusable bag from fresh and easy, but it always stays in the car so it's not a problem. In it, I have the big box of wipes (I hate the teeny one in my real diaper bag), extra diapers for both kids (I always pack some "overnight" diapers in case I end up somewhere with less than desirable bathrooms.), sunblock, a change of clothes, and a light sweater for each of them. I get gifted lots of clothes for the kids, and sometimes I get clothes that aren't exactly my style, so I usually put those in my backup diaper bag. I also have some antibacterial wipes for the real nitty gritty stuff.
On the floor of Anna's side is where I usually put my real diaper bag, lunch bag and I keep our reusuable shopping bags stacked under the front passenger seat. On her side I keep an empty straw cup just in case. Anna doesn't always grasp that she doesn't have to lift her straw cup the way she does a bottle, so the ones they hand out at restaurants don't work for us. Once she lost her usual cup when we were out and had a miserable time, so...NEVER AGAIN.

The front passenger seat usually stows an Iggy, or light shopping bags if I'm alone. If we need to do a full on grocery shopping trip with both kids we just take the stroller out.
My glove compartment has a pen, a little notebook, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, cough drops, sample perfume, a nail file, mirror, a little first aid kit (the blue box) lady things, backup eyeliner, napkins, back up glasses, and the children's immunization records. I finally started putting them there after the third time I forgot to bring it to the doctors.

(Iggy gave me my little friends to put on my dash to alert me if I take corners to fast haha)
