all week i was looking forward to today, and i was set on going to the irvine spectrum because we all have fun there. i cleaned like a kook all week so i could reserve this day for fun, and i had a specific idea of how the day would go (always a bad idea when you have kids).
to be honest the day started off a little bad because i had asked iggy to clear his work schedule this friday, and he assured me he did so i thought we'd leave around ten or eleven to beat traffic.
this morning he told me he had to pick up some checks and drop off a part, which to me, doesn't mean he had it off, so it put me in a mood. he took the baby with him, but still. noon came and went and i finally called him angrily asking him where he was at.
we ended up leaving around one, and i was an angry bird. the thing is though, i can't be in a consistent bad mood around iggy, he always makes me laugh. i said something like along the lines of "we've been in traffic for hours because we left too late" and he was like "we've been on the freeway for 40 minutes!!" and then he went on too point out my complainy greatest hits like "don't go through my purse ever!" "hey check my purse for my chapstick" "irvine isn't even that far" "we've been driving for years!" "Blah blah blah!!" and i just laughed at my ridiculousness.
i also wanted chick fil a but he told me no, and i got ready for a fight and then he was like "we're going to the yardhouse before you complain" so i simmered down :)
anna, without fail, always falls asleep 5 minutes away from our destination. we were on the freeway for 40 minutes and she was giggling, pointing at trucks, and yapping away.
then i felt it.
i turned around and her little eyelids were drooping. i started singing and talking to her. iggy and i were were both trying to engage her while he circled for parking. in the dim parking garage we lost the fight. she went down and started snoring.
once anna falls asleep it's game over. no amount of jiggling or kisses will wake her.
she slumped over in the stroller i brought for baby iggy (i forgot the double at my aunts who watches them during the week).

some lady stopped to look at anna and told me she was a doll. then the iggy's rolled up and she squealed over baby iggy too and told us to keep it going haha.

baby iggy kept pulling anna's hair so i had to push them farther apart. such a pesty little brother :)
the only veggies this kid will eat have to be deep fried. and they said he would only be able to eat a liquid shake through his g tube haha.

after we ate, we walked around a little and a little shopping, and did the fun stuff for the kids (carousel, ferris wheel, train).
originally we didn't buy tickets for the ferris wheel because i thought the kids would get restless in it like last time, but when we walked by it anna immediately started looking for a way to scale it and hop in and when she realized it was impossible she looked at me seriously and lifted her arms and said "up" like i was going to scoop her up and chuck her straight into the bucket haha.

baby iggy loved the carousel. he's ridden one a couple of times before, but this time it was clear he was so happy and delighted to be on it. he kept giggling and smiling ear to ear the entire time. when we got off he had a little hissy fit. i told him we don't do that, and it was time to say bye to the horsies but inside i was a little happy. he's recently been showing more emotion than just a general happiness or crying because he wanted to be held.
here he was crying because he wanted to be on the carousel, he kept leaning toward it and looking at it, basically being a normal baby expressing his thoughts and feelings. AMAZING! i had a well meaning friend recently tell me that the bad times were over, to just embrace the good now and move on. i am, but it doesn't mean i'm going to to forget how lucky i am, and how bad the predictions were a year ago for my little prince.

i saved the best for last for my little water lover. the water jets are convinently in front of target at the spectrum, for all your last minute water fun needs :)
while i watched anna, iggy went inside to buy some things he wanted (for his boring xbox) and to grab her a towel.
the other babies and kids were tentatively touching the water and running to the safety of the dry cement, but not my anna.
she got completely soaked within a matter of minutes. everyone was cracking up at her cheesy ear to ear grin and flashy dance moves. she ran up to me to get her hat, plopped it on her head, and ran back in, practically doing the jitterbug.
she eventually revealed her true motives and tried to catch water with her hat, and i yelled at her no, and she plopped it back on and ran back to give me a kiss. she's been giving me big kisses to placate me lately, and it works because it makes me laugh.
one little boy around 5 told his mom he wanted to go in, and she stripped him down to his shorts, but he ended up having second thoughts and stayed on the outside. his older siblings were yelling at him to go in and anna stopped to listen to all the conversation for a minute and helpfully pushed him in from the back. he thought it was one of his siblings so he didn't turn around for awhile and then he noticed his new little pint sized friend beaming back up at him encouragingly.
when iggy finally came back from target i saw a starbucks frapp on the stroller and my first very ungrateful/embarssing thought was "there's a Coffee Bean here you goon!" but then he told me to try it, and to my surprise it was a peppermint mocha frapp. "i flirted to get you that" he told me happily. so this ungrateful girl got a starbucks christmas favorite in march, thanks to her wily husband ;)
you know how all parents think their kids are the cutest kids ever, well I think yours are actually the cutest ever! Absolutely adorable!!!
